The Minnesota Whitecaps defeated the Boston Blades 4-2 in Game 3 of the Walter Cup Final on Sunday night at TRIA Rink in Saint Paul, Minnesota. With the win, Minnesota takes a 3-0 lead in the best-of-five series and is now just one win away from claiming the championship.

Jaques opened the scoring for Minnesota just over five minutes into the game, giving the Whitecaps an early 1-0 lead. Boston tied the game midway through the first period on a goal by Denna Laing, but Minnesota regained the lead late in the period on a goal by Allie Thunstrom.

Jaques scored her second goal of the game early in the second period to give Minnesota a 3-1 lead. Boston cut the lead to 3-2 on a goal by Mary Parker late in the second period, but Minnesota held on to take the win.

Amanda Leveille made 25 saves in goal for Minnesota, while Katie Burt made 21 saves for Boston.

Game 4 of the series will be played on Tuesday night at TRIA Rink in Saint Paul.
